Companies often attack the most visible problem instead of the problem governing performance. More leads. More people. More software. More capital. Before adding more, find the constraint.
Slow growth, low margin, overload, missed targets, churn or execution friction.
Find queues, delays, unused demand, idle capacity, escalations and repeated failure.
Demand, conversion, capacity, talent, economics, decision speed or retention.
A real constraint should release throughput, revenue, margin, capacity or velocity.
Concentrate leadership attention on the point governing throughput. Prove it is causal, exploit the existing system first, and only then decide whether more people, capital, AI, software or structural change are justified.
If the constraint is attached to a high-stakes growth, talent, capital, technology or operating decision, pressure-test it before spending against the symptom.
